King’s College Student Teachers Assigned to Local Schools for Spring 2025

King’s College today announced that 25 student teaching candidates have been assigned to local school districts throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania as part of their certification requirements.

The College’s student teachers complete a 15-week placement to qualify for certification in their area and grade level. This semester, students have been assigned to the Wilkes-Barre Area, Wyoming Area, Wyoming Valley West, Lake Lehman, Nanticoke, Dunmore, Riverside, Abington Heights, Pittston Area, and Hazleton school districts.

The College has prepared undergraduate students for Pennsylvania teaching certifications since 1950. The Education Department also offers graduate and certificate programs for students who already have a bachelor’s degree and wish to become certified teachers in elementary, secondary, or special education.

Other offerings include a five-year program that leads to a bachelor’s degree in PK-4 and special education PK-12, as well as standalone master’s degree programs in curriculum and instruction, special education, and reading.

Endorsement programs in autism, English as a second language, instructional coaching, and STEM education are also available. For more information, visit kings.edu/education.
