This webpage should be used only as a quick reference guide. For more detailed information, consult the PART-TIME FACULTY HANDBOOK which is available in print and online. The contents include the College's Mission Statement, Contracts, Academic Policies and Procedures, Professional Policies and Procedures, Guide to Campus Offices and Services, and a Campus Directory.
For detailed information about specific department policies, consult the Department Chairperson.
CLASS CANCELLATIONS BY FACULTY
Faculty who are unable to meet their classes must notify by phone or e-mail the Academic Affairs Office (208-5895), as well as the Faculty Assistants in Hafey-Marian and McGowan Halls if the class meets in either of those buildings.
CLASS ROSTERS AND TEACHING SCHEDULES
Class rosters and teaching schedules are available on-line through Web Advisor. Password and instructions to Web Advisor are mailed by the Registrar's office to the faculty member's home.
COMPRESSED SCHEDULES
In case of severe weather, information about the College closing or Compressed Schedule can be obtained from local radio and TV stations, the College Weather Hotline (208-5979), or the college's website.
CONTRACTS
Contracts are issued by the Academic Affairs Office. Contracts are e-mailed to the faculty member, along with a letter detailing the procedures to be followed concerning signing the contract and withholding tax forms. All paperwork must be submitted to the Academic Affairs Office (Rm. 325, Admin. Bldg.). It is important to do so in a timely fashion since ID cards, parking permits and pay cannot be issued until this is done.
DINING SERVICES
Meals are available in the Susquehanna Room (Administration Bldg), Connerton's Cafe and the Marketplace (Sheehy-Farmer Campus Center) and Leo's on Mane (Gateway Comers.). Meal plan options are available through the Dining Service Office (ext. 5833). For full details and hours of operations, consult the Part Time Faculty Handbook.
ID Cards
ID cards are issued at the time of employment and facilitated through the Academic Affairs Office. Pictures are taken and cards issued in the Residence Life Office in the Sheehy Farmer Campus Center. This card is needed for the use of the gym, library borrowing privileges, bookstore discount and free tickets to King's theater productions.
GRADES AND EXAMINATIONS
Grades are submitted on line through Web Advisor (accessible via King's web page). Deficiency reports can also be submitted on line; those forms are accessed through the King's web site under the "Academics" tab, followed by the link titled "Registrar."
MID TERM GRADES
A letter grade must be submitted for all 1st year students and for all students earning a D or F.
FINAL GRADES
Final grades must be submitted for all students.
DEFICIENCY REPORTS
Deficiency reports must be submitted for all students earning a D or F with both mid term and final grades.
EXAMS MUST BE SCHEDULED ACCORDING TO THE SCHEDULE ISSUED BY THE REGISTRAR'S OFFICE.
SUBMISSION DATES FOR GRADES POSTED BY THE REGISTRAR'S OFFICE MUST BE OBSERVED.
WITHDRAWAL FROM COURSES
Students may withdraw from a course during the first half of the semester. Final Date for withdrawal is listed in the academic calendar, and will be posted in the Mulligan Lobby as the deadline approaches. The student must begin the process in the Office for Academic Advisement and must have the instructor's signature. A grade of "W" is given. If a student "unofficially" withdraws from class, a grade of "F" is given.
