Holy Cross Members at King's

Rev. Thomas P. Looney, C.S.C.
Born in Brooklyn and raised in Otisville, NY, Father Tom previously served at King's College as a member and Chair of the Theology Department. He presently serves as the College's President. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Stonehill College, Renew International, and the Father Peyton Centre in Attymass, Co. Mayo, Ireland. He enjoys facilitating retreats and giving days of recollection.

Br. Jimmy Henke, C.S.C.
From Greenwood, IN, Brother Jimmy spent a year in Bangladesh before coming to King’s College. He works as Assistant Director of Residence Education and lives in residence in O’Hara Hall.

Rev. Daniel Issing, C.S.C.
Father Issing, a native of College Park, Maryland, is Associate Professor of Theology at King's College. He holds a doctorate from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California. At King's since 2007, Father Issing primarily teaches courses in Christian ethics. A social ethicist by training, Father Issing specializes in Catholic social thought, particularly the contributive nature of the Catholic understanding of the common good and how persons are formed in becoming agents of the common good. Away from the College, Father Issing lectures on matters of ethics and church life, offers retreats, and provides spiritual direction.

Rev. Charles Kociolek, C.S.C.
From Jersey City, N.J., Father Charles Kociolek worked for an accounting firm and in several Holy Cross Brothers' high schools before coming to King's. He taught accounting at King's for many years. He currently serves as Assistant Director of Academic Advisement, Alumni and Staff Chaplain, and as a special assistant to the President. He resides at Moreau Court.

Rev. Thomas O'Hara
A native of Hazleton, PA, Father O'Hara graduated from King's in 1971 and was ordained a priest of the Congregation of Holy Cross in 1978. Following graduate studies at American University, Father O'Hara taught in the Political Science Department, and served as an administrator at King's prior to his appointment as the eight President of King's. At the conclusion of his 12-year presidency, he was elected to the Office of Provincial Superior of the United States Province of Priests and Brothers, a post he held for six years. He served in Bangladesh and Uganda as well. Father O'Hara returned to King's in the fall of 2019 and serves as an Academic Advisor. He resides at Moreau Court.

Br. John Paige, C.S.C.
Bro. John Paige C.S.C., a native of Albany, New York, has served the Holy Cross Congregation in secondary education as a teacher, coach, and administrator; in higher education he worked in East Africa and the USA as a professor and Dean. Brother John, former president of Holy Cross College at Notre Dame, Indiana, holds a Ph.D. in Education Policy and Leadership from the University of Maryland at College Park. At King's, Brother John serves as an academic advisor, assists with special projects in the Education Department and works with Institutional Advancement in cultivating benefactors. He resides with the local Holy Cross Community at Moreau Court.

Rev. Brogan Ryan, C.S.C.
A native of Columbus, OH, Father Brogan is the Director of Campus Ministry and College Chaplain. Prior to serving at Kings, Father Brogan served at the University of Notre Dame as the Rector of Keough Hall and worked as a middle school teacher and public accountant before entering Holy Cross.

Rev. Michael Wurtz, C.S.C.
Father Wurtz was ordained to the priesthood in 2004, and ministered at Holy Cross and St. Stanislaus Parish in South Bend before pursuing a master's in Liturgical Studies at St. John's, Collegeville (MN) and then a doctorate in Sacred Liturgy at the Pontifical Atheneum of Sant'Anselmo in Rome. A former doctoral fellow at the McGrath Institute for Church Life at the University of Notre Dame, Father Wurtz advised at the Notre Dame Center for Liturgy and lectured on rites of healing and the relationship between liturgy and priestly formation. He currently serves at King's as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Theology.
Deacon Ricky Bevington, C.S.C.
From Delmont, PA, Deacon Ricky arrived at King’s College in 2024. Previously, he ministered in Student Affairs at both Stonehill College and the University of Notre Dame. He currently serves as the Assistant Director of Campus Ministry and lives in residence in Holy Cross Hall. Deacon Ricky will be ordained a priest in April 2025.
Rev. Frank Murphy, C.S.C.
From Chicago, Il. Fr. Frank has served in parish ministry, 18 years in East Africa in Holy Cross ministries, two years in training for retreats and spiritual direction at a Jesuit retreat house in Canada and, most recently, as Faculty Chaplain and Coordinator of Spiritual Direction training and support at Notre Dame. He now serves as the Superior of the local Holy Cross Community and as Campus Minister for Faculty and Staff.

Rev. Robert Lozinski, C.S.C.
Rev. Robert Lozinski, C.S.C., a former campus chaplain at King's, has been involved in parish ministry in several places. After completing a term as pastor at our Holy Cross Community's parish in Bennington, VT, Father Bob is now the pastor of St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church in Dunmore, PA.
