Widmann Art Gallery

The Gallery is located on the first floor of the Sheehy-Farmer Campus Center with viewing hours Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 P.M. and Saturday and Sunday as arranged.

During the academic year, exhibits from talented local artists are displayed in the Widmann Art Gallery, providing audiences with a vibrant experience in the visual arts. “Meet the Artist” receptions, which include gallery discussions, provide an opportunity to meet with the artist and ask questions you may have about the exhibit. While primarily a gallery, the space can also be used to host other small events when available and often showcases student projects and college programming.

The Gallery is located on the first floor of the Sheehy-Farmer Campus Center with viewing hours Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 P.M. and Saturday and Sunday as arranged. The Gallery is closed on national holidays and during scheduled breaks throughout the academic year.

Fall 2024 Showcase

20th Annual Emerging Artists Invitational Exhibit | September

Meet The Artist: Friday September 6, 6 - 8 p.m.
Exhibit: Monday, August 19 – Friday, September 13
For the past 20 years the Emerging High School Artists Invitational Exhibit for 9th- 12th grade students has been coordinated by Sue Hand. The artworks are all original in content and must not have been in a prior public art exhibit.

Study Abroad Showcase | September & October

Day of The Dead | October

Hispanic Outreach and Campus Ministry Celebration Event: TBD
Exhibit: October 14- November 1
Join us as we prepare to celebrate El Día de Los Muertos, a day when the border between the land of the living and the land of the dead is broken down. A day where families celebrate the lives of their deceased loved ones and welcome them back with food and festivities. Everyone is welcome to bring personal items or photographs of those whom you wish to commemorate.

First Generation Celebration "WHY AM I FIRST?" | November

Office of KC Pathways Celebration Event: Friday November 8, 2 – 4 p.m., Campus Center Lobby & Widmann Gallery
Exhibit: Tuesday November 5 – Friday November 8
WHY I AM FIRST? The campaign highlights first generation students, staff, faculty, alumni, and a few famous individuals’ stories on being a first-generation student, words of who supported them and why, and a focus on their resilience. There will also be a sense of belonging wall to leave a hand-written message of “Why I Belong” here at King’s for anyone at King’s to leave a message and display.

Hunger For Justice by the Shoval Center | November

Exhibit: Tuesday November 12 – Friday November 22
Hunger for Justice is a collaborative, educational, and interactive exhibit and features a project as well as the King’s College engineering ASCE Student Chapter’s building project.

Winter Wonderland by MISP Office | December

Hot Chocolate Bar: December 5 & December 11, 12 – 2 p.m.
Exhibit: Thursday December 5 – Monday December 13
At any time, you can come by the Gallery, interact with the Resilience Tree, The Wall of Gratitude, and Ornament Decorating in front of the fireplace! Bring your family and friends! See above for the reception dates and join us for festive music and hot chocolate bar.

Getting to the Gallery

Gallery visitors are encouraged to park in the Holy Cross Parking lot (directly behind the Campus Center), accessed from the cul-de-sac on North Franklin Street. Please use the call box to let the Switchboard know you are visiting the gallery for both parking and building access as the Campus Center doors are only operable with King's ID. The entrance the Campus Center is on the opposite side of the building. If you need additional assistance, please call the College Switchboard at (570) 208-5900.
