The Theatre showcases student work as a part of the academic department’s mission to equip theatre students with a diverse, creative, and technical skillset. Play submissions were open to the whole student body and selected by a committee of King’s College Faculty and Staff.

“As a writer, I feel the short play festival has been a valuable exercise in releasing your work into the world,” says Finch Plaspohl, a writer, director, and performer in the Short Plays “It truly puts our creativity to work, allowing us to show off something brand new to the King’s College Community.”

Tickets prices are $18 for general admission; $10 for military and seniors; $8 for faculty, staff, and non-King's students; and free for King’s students. Tickets can be purchased in advance online through the link on the King’s College Theatre website or at the door.

King’s students have a long history of self-organizing to create work for the College and surrounding community. King’s College Theatre first began producing student written and directed One Act Short Plays in 2024, using work written as part of the Playwriting class, which is offered every two years. In the years between, script submissions are opened to the student body and are developed in a workshopping process throughout the academic year.
