Graduate Education Professional Development Center
King’s College is offering expanded course selection in response to the needs of local educators. For added flexibility and convenience, some offerings will be available as blended-format courses, which combine face-to-face classroom time and online work. Our Act 48 programs are also available as accelerated weekend and traditional weekly courses. Ninety (90) Act 48 hours are completed with each course. Additional graduate courses will be offered throughout the semester.
Teachers looking to complete their Act 48 requirements for professional development will find everything they need in the King’s College graduate course offerings. King’s also offers coursework in specialized areas, including Autism Spectrum Disorder and Instructional Coaching PDE endorsements, as well as an ESL Program Specialist Certification.
For Newer Teachers: SAS and Inclusionary Practices
King’s recognizes the needs of teachers just starting in the profession by offering courses they are required to complete in order to obtain Instructional Level II certification. The course “Standards Aligned Systems (SAS): What the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) Requires Every Teacher to Know” is offered in January. The Inclusionary Practices course is offered in March in an accelerated weekend format.
King’s College Education Department provides Master’s level courses and professional development courses for certified teachers interested in professional development and completing PDE Act 48 requirements. A student enrolled in the professional development courses will receive three (3) graduate credits (not transferable toward all master’s degree) and Act 48 credits. All courses are taught by well-qualified instructors who have expertise and experience in the areas they teach.
