For the fourth consecutive year, King’s College has been recognized as among the best master’s degree granting institutions in the country in a national ranking which recognizes higher learning institutions for service to the community and social mobility of the student body.

The rankings appear in the September/October issue of “Washington Monthly” magazine. The rankings were based on three evenly weighted selection criteria; social mobility, service, and research.

Aug. 26, 2013 - Nine local residents were among the 41students who recently completed the physician assistant studies master’s degree program at King’s College and received their degrees at the College’s annual summer commencement ceremonies.

The Class of 2013 is the 36th graduating class of the King’s Physician Assistant Program, the longest established program in Luzerne or Lackawanna County.

Aug. 21, 2013 - King’s College will host a free public celebration of the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, August 29, on the third floor of the Sheehy-Farmer Campus Center.

The highlight of the event, titled “MLK: 50 Years of an Unforgettable Dream,” will involve Ronald Felton, president of the Wilkes-Barre Chapter of the NAACP, reenacting the speech delivered at the Lincoln Monument in Washington, D.C., in 1963.

Aug. 20, 2013 - Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer José Galvez will display a collection of photographs exploring the lives of Hispanic women in a free public art exhibition, titled “Latina,” from Sunday, Sept. 8, through Sept. 14 in the Widmann Gallery at King’s College. Galvez will discuss his works during a free public lecture at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, in Burke Auditorium of the William G. McGowan School of Business on N. River St.

Aug. 13, 2013 - The students entering their final year of the master’s degree physician assistant studies program at King’s College recently began their clinical rotations.  A twelve-week rotation in family medicine and separate six-week rotations in medical specialties including emergency medicine, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, psychiatry, and general surgery will conclude with their graduation from the program in August 2014.
