October 11, 2017 - Mark Michno, a resident of Old Forge and a senior accounting major at King’s College, was selected as the second recipient of the Kearney & Company Scholarship.

Established in 1985 by Edward F. Kearney, a 1974 graduate of King’s, Kearney & Company provides auditing, accounting, and consulting services to the Federal Government and its agencies throughout the country.

To qualify for the scholarship, students must be majoring in accounting, must demonstrate academic merit, and either be working part-time or be involved in extra-curricular activities at King’s.

Michno currently works full-time jobs at Diamond Manufacturing and Brace’s Orchard in addition to his classwork.  He is a member of the King’s College Accounting Association and a student affiliate for the Pennsylvania Institute for Certified Public Accountants. 

Michno recently completed an audit internship with Baker Tilly, the eighth largest international public accounting firm.  He will graduate from King’s in May, take the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam, and will begin as an auditor with Baker Tilly next October.
