Brian Blight has been promoted to Creative Director in the Office of College Marketing and Communications, Division of Enrollment Management. Brian’s new position builds on his previous role as art director, in which he was responsible for developing and protecting the King’s College graphic standards and managing the design and production of King’s publications and advertising, including photography and video production.

In his new role, Brian will continue to oversee these operations; in addition, he will focus on expanding the use of video across all King’s promotional channels, and in particular the use of video in social media, including Facebook, YouTube and other platforms. These channels have become increasingly popular and influential with the demographic that includes King’s primary target audience of prospective students and their parents.

Other duties will include art direction of photography and video production by in-house and freelance photographers and video producers. He also will be closely involved with guiding the evolving look and feel of the King’s website and other online presentations to ensure consistency of the King’s brand across both traditional and new, electronic media. In addition to his hands-on involvement in design and production, Brian will take a more active role in working with staff designers to help them develop and improve their design skills and expand their technical knowledge of design software and related tools.

“With more than 18 years of experience as a designer at King’s, no one has a deeper understanding of the King’s brand and how to protect it and make it stronger than Brian,” said Corry Unis, vice president of enrollment management. “In his new role, Brian will be better able to help King’s adapt its brand to the changing trends in design and the new technologies that are driving those trends and make them so effective.”
